Brief hello post..
Sep. 7th, 2010 12:39 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I am moving here following friends fleeing livejournal after the recent fiasco involving LJ abandoning member privacy for popularity with twitter and facebook... i am contemplating porting my livejournal over.. and also contemplating not doing so, and starting with a clean slate here.
If i've added you recently, it's because your profiles or posts seem interesting, and/or we have mutual acquaintances. That, and i really don't know many people here yet. By no means am i expecting automatic add-backs, especially considering i have no content here yet for you to get a feel for what kind of person i am. Soon, i will make an intro post, or a bio, or some such tidbit. It may take me a few days to get used to the idea of moving here.. and i'm not sure yet if i'm leaving LJ entirely or not... probably not, unless my friends come here as well.

Date: 2010-09-14 10:25 pm (UTC)I do not see any mutual friends, but I do see that we share a few interests, one of them being Joseph Campbell. His work is very important to me, so your interest in him gives you something of an instant pass in my book. ^^
I look forward to our continued interaction, not to sound too stuffy or anything... I know... I totally do. XD

Date: 2010-09-16 08:21 pm (UTC)Joseph Campbell had a huge impact on my world view... Though I haven't read very many of his books, as of yet, what I've read has been profound and liberating. His words have given me hope that I can still interact with the archetypal myths of existence, and permission to find my own interpretation, or create my own mythology. Though, i have other difficulties with actually -doing- so... :)
I am fascinated by your journal, though I am a latecomer and not yet fully aware of what is going on. On a more-or-less pertinent personal note, I used to be multiple/fragmented, though i don't really remember much of what that was like. I think there is power in dissociative states, and sometimes i wish i could liberate myself enough to explore them freely, without worry about the ramifications.
Ah, here i go rambling on again. Apologies.
And, btw.. you don't sound stuffy at all to me. :)

Date: 2010-09-16 10:46 pm (UTC)We have three or four books Joseph Campbell wrote, but we haven't made it through them yet. It never ceases to amaze me (Celes) how the things he says line up with things I have believed deep down somewhere all along. :)
Fascination is certainly a compliment we enjoy. ^^ We don't identify with the term "dissociative" but we don't take offence to it. We just don't feel the technical definition (at least as we've always found it worded) applies to us. We 100% completely relate to what you say about feeling free to explore without ramifications. That's why we created this journal. We had "multiple tendencies" before we created this space, but we were afraid to explore. So we left everything behind and allowed our mind the chance to explore itself. We've come Such a long way from that moment!
Now look who's rambling. XD We never mind a good ramble... ^^;;;
Your art, in the latest post, is beautiful, btw. We wish we still painted, but it's just not something we ever make time to do anymore... that and sculpt. Perhaps we'll get back soon... You certainly do inspire us. :)

Also: Sorry about the co-signature and ambiguity. We're a little "blendy" right now and neither of us could take full credit for this comment. ^^;
